In accordance with its Mission Statement, St Margaret’s during Holy Week followed its traditional pattern of liturgical services. These attracted a wide range of attendees both from the regular congregation and from further afield.
Locally joint services were held with the Congregation of St Peter’s RC Church in the Castlegate. and we had attendees also from the Orthodox tradition. An additional lunch time service was piloted over the two Thursdays during Passiontide, and the Church advertised as open for private meditation on the mornings prior to that.
We were particularly delighted when during the week a class of primary schoolchildren unexpectedly turned up, and the Rector was able to explain to them some of the Church’s seasonal symbolism.

Following Mass on Maundy Thursday the Watch was kept through the Night at the Altar of Repose [pitcured above] , and the week concluded with a Parish Buffet attended by 75-80 on Easter Day.
